Planting has started for 2010

As you can see in the photo above we have started our 2010 plantings of local provenance greenstock.
From L to R - James, Keith, Frauke, Kate, Elva, Mike, Sue and Greg made up the great team of planters on Friday 14th May. This site was previously dominated by Victorian teatree, a troublesome woody weed which spreads rapidly and replaces a range of local plants. We planted low growing salt bushes, sedges, spinifex and low wattles, interspersed with native wisteria. We hope that it will be a beautiful and biodiverse beachside spot in a few years, providing insect, butterfly, bobtail and bird habitat close to Cottesloe's main beach.
We now have planted about 500 seedlings - only 7, 500 to go, so we need some help! Please refer to our website for planting dates. We would love to have your help one day!
