Cool school kids

Cottesloe Coastcare attended North Cottesloe Primary's 'Eco - Cool 'school expo on Wednesday 17th September. The students put on a "trashion"parade, Mike Gregson did seed planting with some classes, there were science exhibitions, recycling and worm farms on display, Earth Carers gave talks to the kids, Travel Smart people were present - and there were many other interesting happenings.
The new school mural can be seen in the photo on the right. Parents, students and staff all helped change dull toilet block walls to the fun and colourful mural. Cottesloe Council funded the project.

Cottesloe Coastcare volunteers, Sue Freeth, Sue Conlan and I helped a class of Year 1's repot a Wollemi Pine donated to the school by Landcare Australia. Thank you Landcare Australia. Later we helped the Year 1's plant 30 local native plants in the school grounds.
A group of enthusiastic and dedicated parents and the school administration are to be congratulated for the many environmental projects undertaken this year and for their ongoing commitment to sustainability goals for the school.
