Summer 2006 -2007 Newsletter

In our latest newsletter we 'interviewed' local residents Mary Edwards and Jan Walker. Both women care deeply about the local natural environment and Jan told us some great stories about growing up in Cottesloe in the 40's and 50's. Mary was the champion of the Cottesloe Native Garden in the 1980's.  (see note below)

The cost of photocopying this newsletter is sponsored by Envirofund, National Heritage Trust as part of our new project for restoration and revegetation work at the foredune opposite Bryan Way in central Cottesloe. This is a highly degraded and weed infested site where we will weed and replace the weeds with approximately 2000 local provenance seedlings. CCA will be looking for helpers in winter 2007 to assist us with planting!

The photo is Scaevola crassifolia ( Thick Leaved Fan Flower) which is in full flower along the foreshore at present. There are a few plants at our new project site and volunteers will collect seed from them. APACE Nursery in Fremantle will grow the seedlings for us, ready for winter planting.
